Harry
H. Warner
Warner has over forty-five years of business and military experience.
After graduating from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), Mr.
Warner worked for several years in the banking industry while
serving as an officer in the United States Army Reserve. He held
several positions with State Planters Bank, now SunTrust Bank,
and served as Executive Vice President and Director of Metropolitan
National Bank, now First Union Bank, in Richmond, Virginia.
In 1971, Mr. Warner accepted the position as President and Director
of TRANSOHIO Financial Corporation, a publicly held financial
services firm traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Warner
stayed with TRANSOHIO until 1978.
For the twelve years following his service with TRANSOHIO, Mr.
Warner held the position of Executive Vice President of the VMI
Foundation and Executive Director of the VMI Development Board
in Lexington, Virginia. Upon his retirement, he settled in Lexington
and worked as a financial and fund raising consultant, investor,
and real estate developer.
In early 2003, Mr. Warner was asked to serve as President of
the George C. Marshall Foundation, where he remains today.
In addition to earning the honor of Valedictorian of his class
at VMI, Mr. Warner holds a Masters in Business Administration
from Rutgers University. He serves as Chairman of the Advisory
Board for The New Market Fund, as well as holding directorships
with Chesapeake Corporation and The Allied Defense Group.
Mr. Warner is married to former Mary Elizabeth Patrick. They
have four children and five grandchildren.
